Diego Rui - Architect
Diego is a 1977 graduate of the University of Venice’s renowned
school of architecture. He is a registered architect in the
Province of Treviso since 1978 and the Province of Pordenone
since 1991. Diego is a founding member of the Associazione Studi
Tecnici (Association of Technical Design Solutions) and has been
the managing partner of the firm since its inception in 1978.
Diego has been the managing architect for 75 projects since he
began work with the studio. His projects have had a total value
of nearly 100 million Euro and his major concentration has been
in commercial facilities, factories and schools. His major works
include the Gymnasium for the City of Pordenone, the Hotel at
Villa Policreti and the Bank Buildings in Orsago for BCC. He was
awarded the region’s third prize for architecture in 1987 for
the Restructuring of the Orsago historical plaza. Diego was also
part of the AST team which won first prize for architecture for
the Kindergarten in Spesiano in 1978 and the City Hall in
Brugnera in 1979.
Sergio Vinante - Architect
Sergio Vinante is also a 1977 graduate of the University of
Venice’s school of architecture with a doctorate in
Architecture. Sergio is a registered Architect in the Province
of Pordenone since 1978. He is a founding member of the
Associazione Studi Tecnici (Association of Technical Design
Solutions) and has been the director of technical works for the
firm since it was started in 1978. Sergio has been the primary
responsible architect for over 100 projects worth 75 million
Euro, since he began work with the studio. His major works
include The Aviano and Sacile City Municipal Buildings, the
Shops and apartments at Corte Pelizzia and Corte Casagrande, and
the Sacile High School, for which he won the first prize for
architecture in the region in 1985. Sergio was also part of the
AST team which won first prize for architecture for the
Kindergarten in Spesiano in 1978 and the City Hall in Brugnera
in 1979.
Claudio Pillon - Architect
Claudio Pillon is also a 1977 graduate of the University of
Venice’s school of architecture with a doctorate in
architecture. Claudio is a registered Architect in the Province
of Pordenone since 1978. Claudio is the third founding member of
the Associazione Studi Tecnici (Association of Technical Design
Solutions) and has been the director of external operations for
the firm since it began in 1978. Claudio has been the primary
responsible architect for over 50 projects worth 80 million Euro
since he began with the studio. His specialization is urban
planning and residential communities, and his major works
include the rezoning of the factory area for Cimolai in
Pordenone, the Sacile historical center revitalization, the
urban park “Ortazza” in Sacile and over 30 Apartment buildings,
subdivisions and residential complexes in the region. Claudio
was also part of the AST team which won first prize for
architecture for the Kindergarten in Spesiano in 1978 and the
City Hall in Brugnera in 1979.
David Kelley - Engineer
David is a 1983 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy with a
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, and in
1991 received his Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from
Princeton University. He is a registered Civil Engineer since
1994 in the State of California. After graduation from the
academy, he served as an engineer aboard a Frigate for 3 years
and then transferred to the Navy’s Civil Engineer Corps. As a
CEC officer, he held various engineering positions. He has twice
been the director of Public works for bases. First at the Naval
Hospital in Philadelphia from 1988 to 1990, and then at the
Naval Station in San Diego from 1993 to 1996. He also served as
a design and construction project manager for the Naval Shipyard
in Philadelphia from 1987 to 1988 and most recently, was in
charge of construction management for the U.S. bases in Northern
Italy, where he led a staff of 25 in completing over $200M in
construction from 1999 to 2003. In his 20 year Navy career,
David was in charge of design and construction management for
over 200 projects worth 500 million dollars. David joined AST
International as a partner in March of 2003.
